O How The Mighty Have Fallen



A most brutal session, session 6. Our heroes continued their exploration of the infinitely large and infinitely deadly Demonweb Pits, and were met with many a foe.


Project Alpha, a drow breeding project gone terribly wrong, was the first of our ignoble heroes to die. He survived four Type III demons, submersion in 600 feet of acidic saline, and 1 drow lich-mummy... but the other 3 finally vanquished the 8 armed-whirlwind of death.


Orka Balmung, mercenary lord, renowned fighter of the Underdark also fell to the sickly decay of the 4 mummy lords. When all was said and done in that brutal combat where spells rocked the corridors, blades let loose gallons of blood (or dust, in the mummies' case), and mysterious mindmagics warped the very fabric of timespace, only two adventurers and godslayers remained: a most peculiar creature by the name of Quinn, master of the mind, shapeshifter; and a surprisingly dextrous and brilliant grimlock, also posessing the strange mindmagics. Perhaps this force, nearly unknown in the Demonweb, provided the edge they needed to survive. Alas, only Quinn will remain alive in the long run, however. The grimlock suffered a grievous injury from one mummy... one that is continually causing the flesh to melt from his very bones.


And what of T'kal? Has he fallen to the same pack of 6 beholders that nearly slew an entire party in session 5? Has he merely been in waiting, searching for clues that will lead him to his ultimate goal and prize: Lolth Herself? All will be revealed in exciting Session 7, soon to come!
